Hey everyone,
As many of you know, last year I had a liver transplant. I have a condition called PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis ). It's an autoimmune disease that causes narrowing of the bile ducts, which prevents the liver from function properly. I was diagnosed with this condition when I was 15, but I didn't start getting symptoms until I became an adult. It made my skin dark and blotchy, and my eyes a dark yellow color. I also felt like I had a hangover without the headache everyday, extreme itching, and other things which made my life unbearable. Unfortunately, the only way to correct the condition was by transplant.
So, midnight May 22, 2015 they called me and I got my newish liver. It was one of the most challenging times of my life, and I'm grateful my health and life is somewhat back to normal. The thing is: with liver transplants, they are very expensive and even the best insurance (and I had pretty good insurance ) won't cover everything. The majority of the surgery was paid for by insurance, but I was left with lots of bills, which I've been trying to pay over the last year. I'm also trying to finish college, which is an expense in itself. It's almost impossible for me to do both. I've been really avoiding this, but I need the help of my friends and family on this one. This is ONLY for medical bills.
