Lungs for Sandy Anderson

Sandy was diagnosed with sarcoidosis five years ago. She was able to keep the disease somewhat under control for those five years. However all of that came to a pinnacle at the end of June. At 3 am on June 25th she woke up gasping for air and in extreme pain, the xray showed a collpased lung. From that time forward she has progressively deteriorated to the point now that she requires a lung transplant. Currently my mom is on short term disability and then will go to long term disability in December. My parents are completing the paperwork for social security disability, however because she is only 59 she will have to wait 24 months for medicare to kick in. The fundraiser funds will go towards buying insurance between the gap of coverage from her end of long term disability and the beginning of medicare.
