This is our Mom, Eloise!

She is the writer/producer of the award winning musical web series,  “HOME FOR MOM”.  It is a project that artfully tackles the thing in life no one wants to talk about: death. 

We are pretty proud of her. She has always done her best for us and we want to help her in return.  And that involves a little help from you!

A word from Eloise:

The award winning digital musical series “Home for Mom” has received multiple awards for excellence and has been recognized for its ground breaking approach to the challenging topic of end of life issues.  The enthusiastic feedback at festivals regarding the high quality of film making, gifted performers and engaging score was satisfying. The creative team never expected we would also be recognized for creating and casting non- stereotypical roles for people of color.  Sweet!

Over the last few months it has become so very clear to us just how many people are dealing with family members facing end of life challenges (Dementia, ALS, Cancer etc.) with no “edutainment” to help them know they aren't alone.  Time and time again we were thanked and told that, although documentaries are informational, “Home for Mom” was here for them in a way unlike any other online source.  As one audience member said, “It’s comfort food for the soul at a difficult time.” Due to these positive responses, Mom's creative team are moving forward to film the last 6 episodes of the season.  In the first 6 episodes we learned our characters stories. In episodes 7-12 we see them fight to find solutions and frankly debate end of life matters.

Information on how to access “Home for Mom” is currently posted on Grief, Dementia and ALS support sites.  In addition, we have distributed flyers to individual residential care facilities.  Our intention, once the final season is completed, is to team up with organizations that support families going though end of life challenges and schedule screenings and talkbacks to support this important community. 

I am grateful to my beautiful children, Maggie and Cooper, who see the bigger picture.  I am proud they see the need for this material to be accessed by a larger population experiencing these challenges.
