Tommy's Campaign

My little sister recently took her 10 month old son into the pediatrician to have "spasms" that he was having, checked out.  Their pediatrician immediately sent them to Arnold Palmer.  Further testing has determined that he had suffered a severe stroke while in her womb, causing damage to the left side of his brain.  These "spasms" have been diagnosed as epileptic seizures.  Their neurologist has placed Tommy on medication to calm his seizures until they are able to thoroughly evaluate whether brain surgery will need to be performed next Monday.  They remain in the hospital for an extended, undetermined period of time.  During this time, my sister is unable to work, so she can remain by Tommy's side. As most of us have, Stephanie  has already stretched her money for Christmas, as she did not see this coming.  The hospital has already made her aware that not all testing is covered by her insurance.  She lives in Melbourne, works and goes to college, as well as dedicates herself as a mother and these events are already financially straining.  If you have younger siblings, you understand the need I have to protect and help her.  I don't know if I were in her shoes, if I could ask for help...I don't know what I would do, but this isn't for me, it's for my little sister and for her, I can most certainly swallow my pride and ask for your guys' help.  I tucked Maddyn and Parker into bed tonight and I tried to imagine what she must be feeling and I can't.  I just can't even let that thought cross my mind.  Please help me, help her.
