Birdie went into the hospital yesterday Jan 13th and had to have emergency surgery to have a large obstruction removed from her intestines.
She lost 2.4 feet of intestine due to the damage.
Cost has already exceeded $4000 and will continue to rise on a daily basis.
She is on constant pain meds, anti-nauseau medication, antibiotics and being monitored around the clock. Her potassium is at 2.9 and should be a minimum of 3.6. This is in part becasue she is still not eating and hasn't eaten for the past three days.
She will need to stay in hospital until she can at least start to eat and get her energy up. She will need meds when she comes home as well as follow up with the vet.
This is a huge unexpected cost and one we will cover no matter what. She is my baby and I will do everything in my power to make sure she gets the medical treatment she needs.
Anything helps and is very much appreciated, all funds will go to her continuing care.
Please keep her in your thoughts for a speedy recovery, I can't wait until I can bring her home and care for her here. I mostly can't wait to see her greet me at the door with her tail wagging, jumping up and down and telling me all about her day.
