Recovery Fund

Hello everyone,

As we can see from recent world events, and from personal experiences, life can change in an instant. I had a stroke while at work on August 23rd, and haven't been able to work since that day...my life changed instantly. I was away from home in the hospital and rehab facility for 3 weeks. My PTO ran out on September 8th, and my last paycheck was September 22nd. We only have long-term disability at my job, and you have to be off for 3 months before it kicks in. Since all of my PTO is used, by that time I will no longer be in FMLA status to receive those benefits. I am still in outpatient rehab regaining strength and coordination in my left side,  and won't be able to go back to work for at least another month or so.

Those who know me well know how hard it is for me to ask anyone for anything, but we are truly in need right now so I'm asking for your help.

I have applied for SS disability, but the process is very long, and the first request is often denied. Every little bit helps, including prayers and we are grateful for whatever you can do.
