HOMELESS BUT HOPEFUL
Donation protected
We are homeless. The just of my long story, is that my boys and I have just relocated to Texas out of state. We came here from Kentucky. In Kentucky, I was on the Housing Choice Voucher program, otherwise known as Section 8. Being on that program, it enables one to port in to another city or state of their choosing. Due to some very personal yet dire circumstances, I had to make the difficult decision to relocate. We are basically starting over from complete scratch. I started the process of transferring/porting in my voucher to Texas at the end of August. The process had taken a lot longer than I had originally anticipated. It was of course partially due to COVID and also the complex I was in talks with before I left Kentucky abruptly went through a change in management. Due to this, I had to use what little I had put back trying to stay afloat. Due to the kindness of a few on a Facebook group, they chipped in and came to the hotel and paid one or two days each to help. As it is today, after a long wait and process, I have just been approved for the apartment! The only thing holding up us being able to end our homelessness is $300. The leasing manager is wanting to put in the request for the Housing Authority to do the inspection on November 10th, but cannot move forward without the deposit. Please, if anyone can find it in their heart to give us a hand-up, we would appreciate it more than mere words could convey. I have set the fund amount higher than my actual current need of $300 to help with the expense of starting over, to save back for utilities, food, and household supplies, ect. Please keep our family in your prayers as we trust God that He will see us through.
