Help Winston beat cancer's butt!

To everyone who doesn't know him, meet Winston, aka Thaddeus Wigglebottoms III. He is a super cool dog who doesn't know he's not human. He wins the hearts of everyone everywhere he goes. He has the best personality and facial expressions and the smelliest gas I've ever been around. He also has CANCER. We adopted him from our local high kill shelter in January 2013. He was an owner surrender, and to this day, I just can't understand why. For the first year with us was a blast. He makes us laugh by his silly antics and crazy quirks.
We noticed his skin started to get open sores that just wouldn't seem to clear up. After a year trying antibiotics and steroids, we went for a second opinion. November 26, 2014 the new Vet performed a "punch biopsy". After a week of not knowing, I got the call that it was cancer. Squamous Cell Carcinoma to be exact. I should add that the location of this tumor makes everything harder to deal with. The tumor is located on the skin covering his penis. In any other location, my local Vet could have simply removed the damaged tissue. So, our next step was to see an Oncologist to find out what could be done for Winston. On December 20th we took him to see Dr. Kitchell in Albuquerque. I was naive in thinking they could somehow just laser if off, no big deal. I was so far from wrong. To ensure they remove all of the cancerous tissue, the surgeon will remove ALL of the surrounding tissue, penis included. To say I was shocked is a complete understatement. Winston will still be able to urinate, but just through a new opening that the surgeon will create. I can update the technical terms as it becomes known to me.
Because of this, his surgery will cost roughly $3500.00. With this daunting amount, and all of this information, there is still a bright side. Once this surgery can be performed, Winston should make a full recovery...peeing like a girl for many more years.
Asking for money is never an easy thing to do. If anyone could spare any amount, we would be eternally grateful. We want to keep Winston around for as long as possible.
