Jeff's Battle with Cancer

Donation protected
Hello. My name is Suzie. Many of you reading this already know me but some of you might not. My husband Jeff was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer about 2 months ago. The doctors say he is terminal but he is strong and we are praying for a miracle.

Anyone that knows Jeff knows that he is sweet and kind and funny. He is one of those people that will go out of his way to make you laugh and smile. But most importantly, he is a man that puts his family above anything else. He is the father of three great sons, all of whom he has raised to be hardworking men of great character. He has provided for this family for years, at times working long hours at multiple jobs to do so. For the past 10 years he has used his hypnosis practice to help people with different needs including to quit smoking, with weight loss, and to help veterans who suffer from PTSD. Unfortunately, due to his illness he can no longer work.

The medical expenses for his condition are growing daily. He is currently on hospice care. He is on more than a dozen medications and oxygen. He requires a home health care nurse and a health aide, each of whom come by twice a week. Over the past 2 months he has had to make multiple trips to the hospital. These include spending 2 weeks in the ICU receiving IV antibiotics, multiple trips to have fluid drawn off of his abdomen because his liver is not functioning properly, and several trips for scans and tests.

We have insurance but you would be surprised how much they don’t cover. It also doesn’t cover basic living expenses which have become harder to afford due to the loss of income. I work but have had to take family medical leave to care for my husband while he was in the ICU and now that he is on home hospice. My sons all work full-time and contribute as much they can financially as well as missing work to help with his care. It is just not enough.

Through all of this Jeff has continued to keep a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. We could use your support. Please, anything that you can afford to contribute would mean more than you could know. If you can’t give at this time than please share this and help us get the word out. But most importantly, please keep us in your prayers. Thank you.
