Shepherds house childcare ministries

Hi, my name is Karen and I am raising money for this amazing charity. It is unfortunately an unregistered charity due to the lack of funds and ability in this remote setting. It is an orphanage and school in Uganda who take care of a large number of orphaned children. Often they arrive with nothing, not even clothing. The shepherds house childcare ministries care for the children from 0-13 and then they are required to leave and fend for themselves, making room for a constant stream of new abandoned children. We are fundraising alongside other volunteers to raise £12,000 so that they can build a high school which will allow the children to stay longer before having to leave.

This charity educate the children, teaching life skills and simple trades to help with adulthood in a very poor area and no family to support them along the way.

A close friend of mine has spent the past four weeks at the school and has been saddened to witness the poverty. These children lack material things but not love and care from the staff.
