Harper, Ashley and Kim's Fire Fund

I am starting this gofundme page for my God daughter Harper and her family. Harper's mom, Ashley is my best friend. Harper's Mom-Mom, Kim is like my second mother. Kim has worked hard all of her life to provide for her children. Ashley has worked hard all of her life to help her single mother and now raise a daughter of her own. The three of them were home, in their rented apartment on December 15th. My fiance is a firefighter and he received a call on his radio stating that there was a fire. This is something I've experienced many times before. Only this time, the address was a little too familiar. He asked me "Isn't this Ashley's address"? Panic set in.

I was able to get in touch with Ashley who assured me that they were out of the home and were ok.  They believe the fire started in the basement, which they do not use as they are on the second story of the apartment. They were not sure how the fire actually could have started. They were unsure of the damage. They smelled smoke, Harper started to cough and they ran. They were outside, in their pajama's, in the cold, 10 days before Christmas and could only watch while firemen and police flooded their home trying to save what they could.

They were able to go back into their home the following day in an effort to collect any of their belongings that were not destroyed by the fire. Everything was damaged. They lost everything. They did not have insurance as they rented and thus, are starting completely over.

While pictures, diplomas and memories will never ever be replaced, I am asking that you donate to my best friend, adorable God daughter and second mother to help them get back on their feet. Ashley and Miss Kim continue to work through this very difficult time, Harper continues to learn and grow every day. Ashley expresses that she is just happy and thankful to be alive and that her family is safe. This family deserves to have a Merry Chrstmas. Tis the season of giving.
