The purpose of this gofundme account is to assist my mother, Anita Beloat, with medical bills and cost of living while she is in the hospital undergoing a bone marrow transplant. I have included her story below that she wrote a couple months ago when first diagnosed. This week she was blessed to undergo the transplant. Prayers and love are always appreciated! Pray that she has the strength to brave through the next couple months and get back to a healthy normal state of life.
"Through my story below, please know that my faith and trust are in God. He is the only one who knows the number of my days. While I walk through this adversity, he walks right beside me.
For the past few years I have been feeling very poorly...running fevers, experiencing pain in my back, hips and legs. After a long series of doctor visits, visits to radiologists and other specialists, we found out that something was going on in the bone marrow.
Within the next few weeks, I went through scans and a bone marrow biopsy. The result was there was no cancer in the body but rather a disease in my bone marrow called MDS, Myelodysplastic Syndrome as well as an issue in one of my chromosomes called 5Q Deletion. This disease can turn into leukemia. In MDS, the red blood cells produce immature cells which do not mature causing a big mess in the bone marrow. It causes anemia and extra cell development in the bone marrow resulting in severe pain.
From the result of the biopsy, doctors have given me 1-3 years to live unless I undergo a bone marrow transplant. Previously I was too week to even make it through.
Doctors have told me that the disease developed from the numerous chemotherapy drugs over many years as well as radiation to the body when I was being treated for breast cancer." ~Anita Beloat
