Rebuilding After Baltimore Riots

Donation protected
Dear Friends,

My name is Steve Kim and I live and work in the Washington D.C. metro area.  I am here today, along with my friend Rebecca Sayres, in asking for your help on behalf of our close friends the Chung Family.

On Monday April 27th 2015, J-Mart Wigs was destroyed in the Baltimore riots.  The owners of J-Mart Wigs, Jung C. Chung and Sung S. Chung, were small business owners working in the community for over 25 years.  As immigrants they came to the United States from South Korea with little money but worked hard to create a decent life for their two boys.  In one night everything they had worked for is now gone.

Now they need our help because unfortunately, the Chungs did not have insurance for the store and have lost everything.  As of right now it is undetermined if the store will be re-opened (the Chungs are both in their 60s).  In the interm we are raising money to help repair damage to the store (approx 15k for front door, windows, security gate and other property damage) and help with living expenses (approx 10k for food, bills, etc until they can get back on their feet) as the store was their only means of income.

Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated and will go directly to the Chungs to help rebuild their lives (I will set the GoFundMe to deposit directly into their account, I will just manage the campaign).  We will also post updates as things progress.

Thank you very much for your generosity,

Steve Kim and Rebecca Sayres, friends of the Chung Family
