My little sister Renee, 4 years old, and I, 7 years old, were viciously assaulted and also left for dead.
Due to ineptitude, corruption and pride, this case was open and shut my entire life until 2015.
It only ended because my complex ptsd loosened it's stronghold on my memory.
I did the right thing and came forward because it was the right thing to do. I campaigned for his freedom in 2015 and was grievously betrayed by the very people charged with advocating for victims and claim to understand profound trauma experienced by crime victims.
Rodney Lincoln, an innocent man, was wrongfully convicted, imprisoned after mistrial and hung jury. He was robbed of decades of his life starting in 1982.
I'm appalled that murder victims, survivors, families & moral depravity have greased the wheel for the barbaric and corrupt system.
And the powers that be, the most unethical & malevolent, will not admit complicity nor be accountable.
This is a profound betrayal of their responsibility & the trust of those most vulnerable and affected. We are trotted out as pawns & shields.
The innocent are collateral damage for pathological opportunists.
My Mom, myself and sister and family were weaponized via stoking fear and bias, against an innocent man.
This is an egregious, flagrant and intentional dereliction of responsibility.
My Mom and sister Renee were both heavily wounded by domestic violence in their lifetimes. Renee and I both endured sadistic child abuse.
Mom and Renee were often dismissed, vilified & subject to disgusting respectability politics that enabled their abusers.
The marginalized are the most affected by the system & their vulnerability ignored. They are first to be invalidated and dismissed, the last to receive justice.
These are facts. I do not debate facts nor entertain apologetics and oppression olympics.
Me, Mom and Renee are pets for capital punishment advocates. We are used as propaganda icons for those who applaud the systemic racism, oppression & human & civil rights abuses in our country.
I wish to use our pain, our truth to inspire bravery. I want to see the wrongfully convicted have real resources, support and financial compensation when they are released.
I want domestic violence survivors to have realistic working tools and real support.
I want to see marginalized people have basic needs more than met so they can enjoy freedom and pursue their dreams without stress over living costs.
I have much more I'd like to do.
This is still new & the specifics are being fleshed out. Once it's funding has begun, I plan to consult wrongful conviction attorneys and activists as my team.
My Mom and Sister will live long after me, and that's all I ever wanted.
Rodney deserves so much better than he's gotten. I will update with his gofundme soon. The state of Missouri has not finished correcting their error, but he is at home.
