Jackie and Jesse are getting married!
From the first moments we flowed together, and everything in our lives seems to be coming together-but not without thought, intent and passion.
We actively try to curate the life and community we want, and part of that is supporting organizations and causes that do good.
Early on in our wedding plans, Jesse and I came upon the idea to use our event as an opportunity to fund-raise. There are so many important issues in the world, yet we've managed to focus on three which are close to our hearts.
Our Organizations
For Jesse- a musician with an overflow of compassion and talent for healing- the Innocence Lost Foundation was the perfect choice.
For Jackie-a naturalist, wilderness lover and conservationist Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, Nova Scotia chapter for protecting the land.
A third organization-Hope for HIE- was added on behalf of Beatrix, our flower girl. Hope for HIE provides education, resources and community for families of children who have suffered hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
For total transparency: yes, we are splitting up our wedding gift money between these causes, but we will be using 30% of this money for it's traditional purpose-for us!
This online campaign is for our guests' convenience, you can still bring donations and cards to the party. For those who can't make it to the event, this is an opportunity to easily send a wedding 'gift'.
If you have a preference for where your wedding gift is donated, please let us know.
We have entered a fundraising goal, but we are happy to share anything that can be raised with our organizations.
