Memorial Benches Donato & Ranucci

Donation protected
Paying Respects to two people who nourished us through our youth…and then some - Mr. Vincenzo “Enzo” Donato, owner of Pizza Palace, and Mrs. Mary Ranucci, who worked for the Randolph Board of Education.

Hoping to get Randolph alumni and residents to join us to honor the memory of two hard working people, who made a difference, working in our community for many years.

We’re looking to raise money to donate two benches.  One in memory of “Enzo” and one in memory of Mrs. Ranucci, to be used in the Randolph Park system.

Enzo Donato was well known in town, by teens especially, over many years.  He was the owner, operator of Pizza Palace since 1971.  This was, for many of us,  THE place to go after school, before sports, after sports, Friday family pizza nights, after plays, dances, concerts and more. Enzo knew all of his customers.  He expected teens to be respectful when in the restaurant, and could remind you by just by giving you a look, or a smile – a kind of “parent away from home”.  The restaurant has been a supporter of town teams, school clubs, and events.  Enzo and his wife, Caterina lived in Randolph since 1970, raising their children, Vito, Maria, and Anthony here.  After a long illness, Enzo passed away In January 2013.  The Donato family still owns Pizza Palace, operated by Caterina, and sons Vito and Anthony.

Mary Ranucci was also well known as a warm personality in the schools, as she managed the school Cafeteria for the Randolph Board of Education for many years, retiring in 2003.  Mary and husband, Raymond, moved to Randolph in 1970 and raised six children in town, Mary-Jo, Patricia, Raymond, Lisa, Joseph and Louis.  A regular at soccer games and sporting events, she cheered the teams as if they were all “her kids”.  She made everyone feel at home with her kind smile and she was quick to joke and laugh with those around her.  Mary passed away on Dec 1, 2014 after a long illness, with her family at her side.

Once the money is raised, we will file an application the town and will learn more about dedication ceremony and location of bench.  Cost is $950 per bench plus site takes 5% of donations, so we need to raise $2000.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
