Izakaya SEKI staff support

Donation protected
Like so many restaurants across the country,  we are heartbroken that we can no longer employ our staff, many of whom have worked for us for more than 5 years if not since we opened our doors almost 10 years ago.

While we have temporarily switched to selling take-home bento boxes, this revenue barely covers utilities and a tiny percentage of our rent.  It will not be enough to cover the next month assuming we can reopen again on April 25, the current date set by Mayor Muriel Bowser.

We have been so fortunate that in these challenging times, our regular guests and friends ask us how they can help.  We will be eternally grateful for it. I have established a GoFundMe for anyone who wishes to donate funds that will go directly toward one month of payroll and payroll expenses to help our employees through this crisis.  Everyone is completely unemployed with no recourse to find new work.

I realize that this is a very strange ask of you.  There is still a lot of uncertainty ahead for all of us, but we look forward to a time when we can open our doors and for many more meals and memories with all of you at our tables.  Please be well and take care of your yourselves and your neighbors.
