The work that I have the honor to do is rewarding on so many levels. To watch an individual who comes to our agency with barriers that have casued them to make bad choices in his or her life , or just simply be stuck in a rut of despair with no sense of direction. I speak to you about that young man who has served his time and has completed 100 applicaitons (yes 100) without getting a chance to get a job; that young mother who sells her body becasue this is the only way she knows how to make her ends meet. These are just a few of the barriers that our students have faced before coming to our program. The training program is called Madison Apprenticeship Program, and we have been serving this community in 2015 for 10 years, assisitng individuals who face barriers to employment repair, rebuild and moveout of poverty to sustainable employment. Here it best from the words of a graduate of our program when she stated:
"Prior to attending the MAP program I was fumbling to try and put my life back together after making some poor choices that resulted in a legal issues which shook and shattered my whole foundation, self-esteem and place in society. The privilege of participating in and graduating from MAP has made the difference in how I see myself and what I have been able to accomplish. I received a call in October 2013 offering me a full-time position with benefits. This was the result of working there in a part-time temp position during the time I was at MAP. I would not have had the self-confidence and hope to have accomplished all of this without the continuous support and opportunity for growth (in ways I would not have dreamed of), had it not been for Ms. Shinall's amazing, "non-traditional" program & her wonderful staff. I would like to add that this program can work for ANYONE who is willing to commit and grow. I would love to see many others have the same opportunity to TRANSFORM their life, rise above the circumstances. Please contact me if there is anything I can further do to support this mission."

Funding cuts have caused us to be where we are in need today. The goal of $70,000.00 would allow us to rebuild and continue the work that we do as well as continue to help the next group of individuals who are awaiting in the wings for their second chance to try and be better for their selves, family members and community at large.
Will you assist us as we work to assist others and make our community a place proud to be home.
