Dear IYALA Community,
Wow what an exciting year it has been! We are proud to acknowledge that IYALA is a premier center for workshops and classes in the United States, hosting teachers from all over the world. While we may not currently have a physical location where we can gather, we are grateful that our community remains strong and continues to grow online. I believe Guruji would be proud of our creativity and perseverance to support one another and our collective practice in the face of such incredible challenges.
As one of the most culturally and ethnically diverse regions in the country, IYALA is at the forefront of a movement to make Iyengar Yoga more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. The donation based weekend community workshops and classes in Spanish, Japanese, Hebrew, Farsi and Vietnamese help us bring the benefits of Iyengar yoga to a broader and often underserved population.
Today is the start of our fall/winter giving season. As a non-profit this fundraising effort “Sharing a Vision” serves as the base for our yearly programming. As you prepare to give, please reflect on the classes and workshops that have enriched your life, and our community. Your generous donations allow us to continue to keep the teachings of B.K.S Iyengar alive in Southern California.
Although you can support IYALA in many ways today, we are asking for your generous tax deductible contribution to our fundraiser “Sharing a Vision” It is our hope continue our mission of disseminating the art and science of Iyengar yoga. Our goal is to not only gather online, but to someday soon also gather in person.
Donate at our fundraiser between now and December 31, 2021. You can also mark your calendars to donate on Giving Tuesday – a global day of generosity on November 30.
