iYachtClub Hurricane Irma Fund

Hurricane Irma devastated the Virgin Islands. Besides the obvious impact it will have on the area, the hurricane has taken its toll on the lives of the crews that work in the marine industry. Many of the crews own and live on small sailboats. Most of them lost everything in the storm.
We are setting up this fund because many of our past and future guests have asked how they can help. We need funds to pay private aircraft to deliver the generators and supplies. And, we need funds to continue the flow of fresh food and water and needed supplies. Finally, we are setting up the fund to assist the people in the marine industry that lost their homes and boats and to support the marine industry and infrastructure.
One small piece of the puzzle here is getting money into the hands of very small businesses, and people who have nothing and WANT to work, not just a handout.
We are here on the ground, working and watching and going through the hurricane with everyone. we can see the adrenalin stopping, the desperation setting in, the depression, the “oh my god how are we going to live” the hollow eyes from lack of sleep and worry. Your donations will put these people back to work. It will give them hope. And it will help bring the industry back.
The islands will recover and we will survive. Soggy Dollar and Foxy’s will be serving Painkillers before you know it. The Indians, Baths and Caves will still be amazing. And the fish and sand will still be waiting for you to explore. But, right now, the people who make this industry work need your help.
