Donation protected
Uzuri Amini, also known as Iya Oshogbo is an internationally known healer, priestess, and writer.  She was the head of the Egbe Oshun of Ile Orunmila Oshun founded by Yeye Luisah Teish and Baba Awo Falokun in Oakland, Ca. In 1989 they went to Nigeria where she was initiated at the Oshun Shrine. She also traveled to New Zealand to consult with local medicine women.

Uzuri worked for more than 30 years with women; she specialized in the healing of childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence and issues of fertility. She also served as a guidance counselor and ritual designer.

Iya has published her poetry, contributed to several anthologies and performed in local community theaters.

She is survived by her son Craig and her daughter Melinda and a veritable village of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funds raised by this campaign will pay for her cremation and the Yoruba rituals attendant to the crossing of an Orisha priestess.

We are grateful for all that she has given us and her name will be called in the Mojuba at the Festival of the Bones and other ancestor rituals.
