Ixtaltepec Mexico Earthquake Relief

Donation protected
Friends and Family,

As Hurricane Irma comes barreling towards us in Florida, you may have missed that two days ago, Mexico was hit with the hardest earthquake in over a century. Juchitan and Ixtaltepec, in Oaxaca, Mexico, Elia's parent's hometowns, were hit the hardest, with 71 of the 90 confirmed deaths between the two towns.

Elia's family was directly impacted in both Juchitan and Ixtaltepec. In Juchitan, Elia's cousin Julio's bar collapsed, killing 3 people (Julio barely made it out). In Ixtaltepec, Elia's grandmother's house was partially destroyed (she was in her Oaxaca City home), and Elia's Uncle German's house, business, and cars were completely destroyed (the family barely escaped).

Despite the two towns being only 15 minutes away, most of the government aid and support has been in Juchitan, while Ixtaltepec, where Elia's mom is from, has received no aid outside of families of the residents.

We're setting up a fund for Uncle German because everything he owns, including his workshop, was totaled, and we want to see him back on his feet.

You can see the photos of Uncle German's house here

I have received bank information from Gubidxa, German's daughter for assistance, and all donations will go directly to German and his family once the funds are withdrawn by us. Please share this - anything helps.

Thank you in advance.
