On Thursday December 11, 2014, the Hansen family's home suffered severe flood damage during the recent storms that affected California's Central Coast. Their home is the one on the right in the photo, in the immediate aftermath.
The flooding caused extensive damage, and the Hansen family--Brandon, Kelly and little ones Emma (5) and Amy (3)-- had to evacuate. Brandon is a talented young web and application designer, and he's also a ham radio operator (KG6YPI) who has contributed selflessly to the community.
The flood damage is severe, and the family won't be able to return for many weeks. Meanwhile, they are suffering many out-of-pocket expenses just two weeks before Christmas, and they need our generous help in this very trying time! They are going to be digging out of this costly disaster for quite some time to come. There's no insurance coverage for any household contents damage, or for loss of use costs such as additional living expense. The challenge is even greater with Christmas right around the corner.
