HearingAids for my daughter Jasmine

Donation protected
Jasmine , my 14 year old daughter, is in need of new hearing aids. New hearing aids have been recommended that will provide much better hearing than the ones she has now.  Robert Der of Vallejo Kaiser Hearing Aid Center has been working with Jasmine since her diagnosis.  I found out about my daughter's hearing loss when she was 5 yrs.  Old. She has moderate to severe hearing loss caused by irreversible nerve damage. My heart was broken to find this out, but I believe that all things are possible with God. She's very strong and loves her hearing aids. She loves to pick out colors and make them fun. In addition, we have learned some sign language and plan to continue on learning more. Her hearing aids are not covered anymore by insurance, and we don't have the funds to pay for new ones. Her current hearing aids are inadequate. It's very important to her and me that she get the best hearing, especially as it concerns her education. The teachers at her school have equipment that will connect to her new hearing aids that will even provide a more precise, clear hearing environment for her. She's picked out a color already for these hearing aids. We would really appreciate all the help to pay for her hearing aids. Hearing aids are her life; it gives her a whole new world, and without them she panics. She had never heard the sound of cereal being poured into a bowl or an airplane in the sky. It was just amazing to her the things she could hear with hearing aids. The new technology can give her an even better hearing experience. Now here is a letter  that my daughter wrote for her teachers at school.

Hi Teachers,
My name is Jasmine Stokley. I'm writing to tell you that I have hearing loss and when I was in kindergarten I got held back for not hearing correctly, but the second year of kindergarten I got hearing aids and I did well. I'm in your 8th grade class. I have moderate to severe hearing loss. I have a hard time hearing cars when I am crossing the road. It makes me sad to wear hearing aids and I wish I had normal ears like other kids. I use two hearing aids, one in each ear.  I've had them for almost ten years and wear them all the time. The only time I take them off when I'm going to sleep and taking showers. My hearing aids help by hearing others. I like my aids because I can hear. I use a FM system. It is used in all classes. It helps me hear teachers talk. I like to sit in front of the classroom because it helps me. I would aprreciate if you would come close to me and speak slowly. I will be responsible for charging my FM and giving it o you guys. I am good at reading lips, but struggle when your far away from me. You can talk to me or my mom if you have questions or concerns about my hearing, or ways that you can help. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. From your student, Jasmine
