Angela Needs a New Heart

Donation protected
I am starting this fundraiser in honor of and with the blessing of my best friend of over 25 years.
Angela and her youngest son, Aidan.

Angela Horan back in June of 2014,  a few short weeks after turning 36 young years of age,  was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy and Congestive Heart Failure.  Despite aggressive treatment and great doctors, as of 12.4.14 she has rapidly declined and is now in need of a heart transplant.

Of the 3 priority groups on the transplant list, Angela is currently a 1B. What this means is:

Status 1B is the next highest priority status after 1A. These patients require special intravenous medications called inotropes (for example, dobutamine, milrinone) to help their heart function adequately while they are waiting for a donor heart.  Under current UNOS rules, patients listed as status 1B may wait either in the hospital or at home depending on their medical condition.

Here is hoping that that she will get a heart in time to save her life.

Post op VAD Surgery

Angela is an amazing person, daughter, sister, and the most loyal friend anyone could ever hope to have. Most of my happiest memories include her. Angela is quick to give anyone the benefit of the doubt and is the least judgemental person I have ever met.  She is a NAVY wife with a deployed spouse and most importantly of all, she is the mom of 3 sweet boys-- Derek & Deven who are 14.5 year old twins and  Aidan who is 6.  3 boys who need their mom!

Angela has been hospitalized many, many times since June and her current Dr is 90 minutes away. She sees him minimum of once per week which increases her     fuel costs, tolls, not to mention co-pays, prescription co-pays, etc.   She will also have to pay for rent to stay in Tampa for a minimum of 4 weeks following the transplant as she will not be allowed to travel beyond 60 minute drive from Tampa.

Her mother and step-father have been assisting with running Angela's household and caring for her 3 boys when she is too ill to do it herself.

Angela and her family have NEVER asked anyone for anything and wouldn't dream of it, but I feel a strong need to to try and help with the increased financial demands associated with severe, unexpected illness of this caliber.

After much arm twisting, the family agreed to let me begin this campaign.

I am asking you to donate whateveryou can to try and helpthem through this difficult time.  Keep in mind that this is a family who contributes a great deal of time volunteering for Hospice and Sea Turtle Patrol.

$1.00, $5.00, anything will be a blessing to this wonderful family.  Skip your daily Starbucks for a few days and know that your donation has helped someone out a great deal.

**Gas cards & Publix gift cards are also graciously accepted. Please comment if you have an interest in donating this way and I will private message you the address that you can send the gift cards to.

***All monetary donations will be sent directly to an account belonging to Tina Glover, Angela's mother.

If you cannot make a monetary donation, please keep Angela, her children in your thoughts and prayers.

Also, if you're not an organ donor, please consider it. You could save a life!

Thank you,
Heather

Please see Angela's request for prayers below:

I am in need of as many prayers and positive thoughts as I can get. Facebook friends and family I found out on 06/29/14 that I have Cardiomyopathy and Congestive heart failure. I have only told a few people as I was really hopeful it would get better and my heart could improve. On 12/04/2014 I was admitted to the hospital at which time a full Pre-heart transplant protocol was performed. It will be decided in January whether I qualify to get a new heart. I am now on a pump delivering medication to my heart 24/7.

As you all know... I have twins who will be 15 in February and a 6 year old I need to be here for.

Please pray for me to be... 1. Chosen as a good candidate for the transplant list. 2. To be able to get a heart in time. 3. To survive this and be able to be healthy again and around for my kids who need mom around still. I usually don't post a lot on Facebook especially about my private life. I have been hoping this would get better but, it's not and I could use all the prayers and positive thoughts I can get. Thank you
