IVF & Genetic Scanning Baby Fund

We're starting this fund because we have exhausted all our options for a chance to have a baby, except for IVF. I was diagnosed with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy almost 4 years ago - since then, my husband and I have been through what seems like an uphill battle with seeking options of how to conceive a healthy baby. With my diagnosis, I run the chance of passing this disease down to any offspring. While my condition is not severe, it's very possible to pass down a more aggressive case of MMD and that's not something we want to risk. While IVF is miraculous and would provide us an amazing opportunity, it's also quite costly. I figured, well we can just save up, right? That was the plan until I found out recently that I don't have the luxury of waiting due to a new hurdle. The doctors are saying I need to start this ASAP because I'm not very fertile so it's pretty much now or never. The thing is that IVF is just a portion of the entire procedure. After eggs are extracted and fertilized, the embryos have to go through genetic scanning to determine which ones are affected with MMD versus those that aren't. With that, I need a high number of eggs to better our chances. Since my count is not anywhere near where it should be, I will have to do IVF a few times, along with medication each time. So now, along with fertility issues, we're looking at 3 or 4 IVF cycles, hormone shots and medication each time, genetic scanning of all embryos, and then finally an insemination for just a chance of becoming pregnant. This whole journey has been filled with hope and heartbreak over and over. We long for a chance to conceive a little miracle baby and want nothing more than to become parents. We're reaching out for help on a portion of the cost because we're not ready to give up. We want to fight for this chance every which way we can, while we still can and if you are able to donate, it would literally be everything to us.
