IVF funds for our baby Elliott dream

Donation protected

Hi, we are Martin & Zoe Elliott, and we would love you to help us achieve our dream of starting a family. Here is our story so far, we met online in March 2004 on a website designed to connect you to people in your area, we were matched by our mutual love of Red Dwarf and The Simpsons. We quickly arranged to meet in real life and after our first date we were inseparable, getting engaged 8 weeks later.

On 1st October 2005 we were married, before the wedding we decided to start a family and so we began trying for a baby on our honeymoon. It took us nearly 12 months to fall pregnant and we were ecstatic when we found out we were going to be parents, sadly that joy was short lived when at 6 weeks we lost the baby. Over the next 14 years we would experience that same devastating loss a further 9 times.

During this time, we were referred to Burton Queens Hospital Fertility unit for testing and after various checks their diagnosis was – Unexplained. We resigned ourselves to the idea that it would just be the 2 of us (3 counting Abbie the dog!) but as I am sure it has a lot of people, 2020 changed our outlook. Zoe began researching private clinics that offer more advanced/innovative testing and treatment and after a lot of reading and a telephone consultation we found a fantastic clinic in Epsom who we believed could give us some answers.

Having used most of our savings setting up a new business after Martin was made redundant in November 2020, we took the risk and used the last of our savings to pay for the extensive tests recommended. Finally, after sending blood to the USA for specialised tests, we received a diagnosis that Zoe has an autoimmune condition that causes her immune system to attack the embryo. another test confirmed that Zoe has a much lower than normal egg reserve, so time is against us to save up for treatment. The clinic has suggested the following treatments:

Mid-cycle scan £170

Hysteroscopy & Endometrial biopsy £995 and £360

All Inclusive IVF Package £9000 (all medications, scans & blood tests included)

Treatment to stop Zoe immune system attacking the embryo:

Intralipid infusion (every 4 weeks during treatment until 16 weeks pregnant) @ £350 each

Prednisolone steroids (unknown cost by private prescription from local chemist

We would be beyond grateful for any donations towards our goal. We understand that money is tight for everyone right now, if you are not able to donate, please share this page on your social media to hopefully get us to our goal. Thank you for reading our story, Martin & Zoe
