A Home for Sam and Cate

My sister and her two children, Sam and Cate, have been homeless since March 30th. We are trying to raise money for first and last months rent, security deposit, furniture and other essential things they need.
Many of you know my sister is quite ill and legally disabled. After a very tough year with her health (she has a severe case of crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, degenerative disc disease and panic disorder), and a three week stay at Mass General in November for a brain aneurysm, pulmonary embolism and recurrence of cancer, she was notified that she had to leave the home she had been living in for 18 months. My husband and I scrambled this winter trying to purchase a condo or small house so that we could give my niece and nephew a stable place to live. (This is the third time they had to move in 3 years) Although this seemed like the best solution to the housing crisis she faced, we faced many obstacles. After much effort, we were unable to get the home equity line of credit which we needed in order to produce the 20% down payment required to buy a second home. (The appraisal of our home came in too low. Without the $30-40,000. down payment, we could not purchase a place for Sam and Cate.)
Christina, Sam and Cate moved into a hotel room at a Best Western in Haverhill on March 30th. The local family shelters were full, and they had no other option. Currently, my sister and my mother are spending their entire social security income to keep them in the hotel room. This is where the problem arises! There is no money left over for first, last and security deposit. They are literally just scraping by trying to pay the hotel bill and can not save a dime. Also, Chrissy is quite ill and this means the kids are stuck in that room day and night unless family and friends so kindly get them out for an afternoon. (thank you to those who have helped thus far!) With school ending and summer coming, I can not imagine them being cooped up. They need and deserve a place to live.
Please help me raise money to get Cate and Sam into a home and to buy them the beds and living room furniture and clothes they need. Thank you in advance for any donation you can make!
