Ivan's 2nd battle with Luekemia

Donation protected
Ivan was first diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2016. He has relapsed in 2017 and 2018. This marks 3 years battling this aggressive disease. These years have been really tough for my family and Ivan.

We are being told that a transplantant though extremely evasive is his only shot at a cure. He needs to be in complete remission for a bone marrow transplant to be considered. For those who know Ivan, you know he could be stubborn as they come and if there was no viable option he was going to make an option. This option is a stem cell Transplant. Ivan will be transfered to Standford Cancer Center in Palo Alto for his transplant as soon he goes into remission. Its been hard this time around to put him in remission because of his Luekemia is so aggressive this time around. The hope after ten days of cell Infusion his body will be able to use these new cells and start fresh.

I am not one to ask for help in any way neither is my husband. But with me not being able to work and having three kids we find ourselves going through difficult times. We are asking for your help to ensure we are able to provide the best care for Ivan for the next few months while we work hard to fight against this ugly disease.

We pray for my husband to be healed. Ivan deserves a second chance to wins this battle and be cancer free. Ivan is a wounderful father. He is a awesome caring friend and a funny one too.

How can you help?

*Please share this story on any/all social media outlet you use. If anything, our family would like to educate others on how quickly this cancer appears and progresses. Help us spread the word about my husbands experience and hardship. Who knows who might benefit by sharing this knowledge about early signs and symptoms of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
“Acute Myeloid Leukemia(AML) is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow-the spongy tissue inside bones where blood cells are made. The word “acute” in acute myeloid leukemia denotes the disease’s rapid progression. It’s called myeloid leukemia because it affects a group of white blood cells called the myeloid cells, which normally develop into the various types of mature blood cells, such as red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets (mayoclinic.org)
