Angels We Know

Many of you have met Steve, my all-around handyman that helps me out at the warehouse. Steve has been working for me for a couple of years now and that in of itself is no small feat. Ha. Fortunately for Steve, my barking about not chipping the glass, scratching the finish or how to do just about anything has paid off. He is now gainfully employed at the West End Antiques Mall, and will still be able to help me out one day a week or so! This great news was going to end what has been a difficult year for him on a high note, until this past week. I was recently made aware that Steve, his wife and three grandchildren that he was awarded custody of this past summer, have been forced out of their rental home due to a critical mold situation. They are staying with a friend  at the moment. As Steve's good luck streak would have it, he is working to get into a new rental property near the antique mall, with a new school system for the kids and less bus travel for getting work. As you know, renting a new place calls for deposits and moving costs, as they have no vehicles. Now the special request--if you are so inclined this holiday season, I would like to help Steve have some sort of Christmas for his grandchildren. They are Shamira (size 6-7), age 8, Tramonte (size 7-8) age 8 and Tamon (size 6-7) age 6. They are typical little girl and boys. Shamira likes Barbies, tea sets, cooking sets and the boys like Spiderman, the Hulk, trucks, cars, action figures. They have a DVD player, so even used DVDs that your kids are tired of would be great. They are also good students and like to read. Clothes are an option, as well. If you can drop off an unwrapped gift to the the warehouse between now and Sunday, December 21st, it was be so appreciated. I know this is an urgent and late request, so if shopping for one more is going to be impossible, we will kindly accept financial donations to cover his rental deposit. Another option is non-perishable groceries that are children oriented as well, such as healthy snacks.

This is a tough time of year for so many, but this is so close to home and these are people that I know that will greatly appreciate all that is done for them. Those of you willing to make a donation will be entered into a drawing for a holiday wreath like one pictured in this email. Again, thank you so much for your consideration and I hope you can help us help Steve get his family settled for the holidays.
