Bridge the Gap for Bryan Smith

Bryan has had a string of unfortunate health-related events in the last two years, including but not limited to: a heart attack, stroke, one dead kidney, one failing kidney, and a torn rotator cuff (the result of falling during the heart attack). His current situation is extremely dire and he really needs our help as his only source of income is food stamps. His current medical conditions preclude him from being able to work (even though he desperately desires to be a contributing member of society) and have caused him to have to file for disability.

He has already been denied once (it is very common to be denied multiple times) and is currently in the appeals process, which our attorney has told us can take up to 6 months (he is in month three).

For the last several months he has been selling off his possessions (on Ebay, Craigslist, etc.), including his car. I have personally taken him to the recycling center on multiple occasions to sell scrap metal that he has collected or that neighbors have given him.

I have created this campaign as I am a friend/advocate/neighbor of Bryan and my family cares for him deeply. My goal for this campaign is to raise $1800, which is roughly about six months of his expenses (which includes some rather pricey prescription drugs), to help sustain him until his disability is accepted.
