She has never been seen or heard from again, and her remains have never been recovered.

<div>In the event that information leads to the recovery of Melanie, or if her location becomes known through verified means, funds may also be used for recovery-related expenses, professional search or excavation efforts, and burial or memorial costs, so that Melanie may finally be brought home and laid to rest with dignity.
