TEAM LOGAN

While watching daddy play ball one afternoon this past summer, Logan Meincke came down with what we all thought was the flu bug. After going to the ER later that night and numerous tests later Logan’s family found themselves on their way to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital with one very sick little boy. It was there that Logan was diagnosed with E.coli. This strain of E.coli was attacking him with vigorous force. Being the resilient fighter that he is Logan prevailed but not without consequence. Although he has come a long way in his fight for recovery Logan’s kidneys lost the fight. After nearly 3 months, Logan was able to come home from the hospital with a feeding tube and a dialysis machine. Logan currently has nightly feedings and dialysis treatments until his donor kidney is located. 

This family has had a long road thus far and will have a long road yet to come. They are strong, amazing and blessed to have such wonderful family and friends to show them the everlasting support that we all have. If you have ever had the opportunity to meet Logan you already know that this child could light up the darkest of rooms with just one blink of his beautiful eye accompanied by his adorable smile.
