Mike Pearson Recovery & Relief Fund

On December 10, 2014 my lifelong friend since childhood, Mike Pearson,  was involved in a near fatal accident at work. It is only by God's grace that he is still here with us and his family. Mike an A Class lineman with Sumter Electric was working in a bucket on  44,000 volt primary lines during windy conditions when he was  electrocuted. Mike and his co-worker were both knocked unconcious and do not know what caused the accident. The electricity entered the right side of his back and then exited the left side of his back leaving a hole the size of a softball, his left arm and went down his left leg and exited his foot leaving another hole. He had surgery the day of the accident to alleviate swelling in his hand. It was very badly burnt and the safety glove melted to his hand. One side of his heart is quivering and not beating properly so they are watching this closely.  All tendons, ligaments and muscles in his foot have been destroyed. He has suffered internal and external burns on his body and will require skin grafts. The pain that he is in is unimaginable to any of us.  At this time they will have to wait to see if he will lose any fingers, his left hand or foot. Mike is currently at the Wake Forest Burn Center.  He is looking at a very long road to recovery. Once he is released from the burn center he will have to be transferred to a rehabilitative facility. Mike's wife and 12 year old daughter are staying in a hotel in Winston Salem to be with Mike and they are already incurring expenses. Kim is unable to work and will have no income.  They will have tremendous medical bills and lost wages from this. At this point their future is very unknown and do not know if Mike will ever be able to walk or work again.  Mike and Kim are the type of people that have worked hard their entire life and never asked anyone to help them with anything. But they now need the help and prayers of their friends, community and fellow brotherhood of linemen in this time of tragedy. We invite you to make a donation, big or small you'll help make a difference. Thank you for you love, prayers and support for Mike Pearson and his family.
