Hello,
My name is Charlotte and I am a student at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida. I have been nominated to represent the United States, my college and community as a member of the International Scholar Laureate Program Delegation on June 2nd in China.
ISLP nominates exceptional college and university students from around the country to this experiential educational program. I have enclosed a sample of our itinerary for your review. As you can see, this will be a powerful experience, enabling me to interact with many prominent men and women whom most of us only read about in the news.
Attending this program will challenge me to develop my leadership skills and reach my career goals of becoming an excellent educator . I am majoring in Secondary Education with a focus on English Education and Social Sciences. I plan to graduate in Fall 2015 with my Associates of the Arts degree and will further my education to my Masters degree. I maintain a 3.83 GPA, am involved in Caring Through Crafting Club at Indian River State College in which toys and crafts are donated to various chairties and was recently inducted into the Iota Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Imagine if you had been given this opportunity for a life changing experience when you were in college and were unable to participate for lack of funds. That is why I am here today.
My participation in the Program depends on whether I can raise at least $6000 in sponsorships. (The program tuition is $4890 and my travel to the program will be $1312 .) I am investing every dollar I can of my own money to make sure I don’t miss out on this once‐in‐a‐lifetime experience. Of course beyond the expenses of tuition and travel are also being considered. I still need to acquire a passport and visa.
My tuition is paid on a payment plan of $2200 every 21 days until the end of April. Your support for my sponsorship request would be greatly appreciated. For any further information I have left links to information about ISLP and the program in China.
