Due to the destruction that occurred in Puerto Rico as a result of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria, Island of Light 2017 is canceled. Full refunds will be extended to all customers, and processed automatically.
After receiving the official damage report via direct communication from the El Conquistador Resort, and assessing the aftermath to the island of Puerto Rico, the decision was made to cancel. The resort is unable to host guests on our scheduled dates, and looking to reschedule the event anytime soon would be irresponsible, given the current state of Puerto Rico.
That said, our hearts are broken for the citizens of Puerto Rico, as this has become a tragic humanitarian crisis on the island and we want to do our part to help.
Silver Wrapper is working with Pretty Lights and we are hopeful to reschedule the event to take place in 2018. If the event does happen, we will try to create a loyalty program for already existing customers. For now, we are focused on helping the people of Puerto Rico. We ask our patrons and fans to use a portion of their refunds to give back to Puerto Rico during this time and share this campaign amongst their friends and family. Silver Wrapper and Island of Light will be making a contribution as well.
After much research and conversations with people of the island, we have chosen to give donations to United for Puerto Rico. United for Puerto Rico is an initiative brought forth by the First lady of Puerto Rico, Mrs. Beatriz Rosselló in collaboration with the private sector, with the purpose of providing aid and support to those affected in Puerto Rico by the passage of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria. In addition to this donation campaign, we are working on benefit events in both Chicago and Denver.
