Support Islam and Science Fiction

Donation protected
Islam and Science Fiction is a project that seeks to cover Islam, Muslims in Science Fiction whether it is in novels, short stories, movies, comics etc. We do not cover Islam in the religious sense of Islam but rather in the cultural sense of Islam and Muslims. Thus we focus on science fiction that is inspired by Islamic cultures like Frank Herbert's Dune,  Matt Ruff's Mirage,  George Alec Effinger's When Gravity Fails etc or Science Fiction written by Muslims like Alif the Unseen by G Willow Wilson, Sultana's Dream by Rukkaiya Sakhawat Hussain, Dawud Kringle's Quantum Hijra etc. Islam and Science Fiction is considered to be the premier webiste on the subject of Islam and Science.

Islam and sci-fi has been in existence for the last 10 years mainly on a volunteer basis. The genesis of the project was on the simple observation that there is almost no material on the subject of islam and Science Fiction.  Since then Islam and Science Fiction has come to be the most compreehensive site on the subject. Islam and sci-fi has also done a number of interviews with the leading contibutors in the field.  The Islam and sci-fi project contributes towards diversity in sci-fi by high-lighting the contributions of people of color; and also cultures and schools of thought which are given less limelight in Science Fiction in general.

In addition to keeping the project going, we are also using the crowd-funding opportunity to start a new project - an alternate history novel set in an alternate world with a partially-Islamized China, a globalized Nestorian Church, Tamils in East Africa etc.
