Assalamu Aleikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuh,


                  Muslim Children growing up in America often experience a familiar feeling of out of placeness during American holidays. Christmas, Halloween, and St. Patricks day roll around and muslim youth sit on the sideliens. As a youngster this was very familiar to me, but it was all worth it on two occasions every year: Eid al Adha and Eid al Fitr. On both of these days I was able to go to the mosque with my friends and have fun and enjoy the celebrations. The presents that the mosque provided and the dollars that people from the mosque always gave me did not hurt either.
                    As Eid al Fitr rolls around this year, the children will be in for a different experience. Less affluent families depend on the mosque to instill a joy and appreciation for Eid, and this year the mosques will not be open. These children will not be able to get presents from the mosque, and for many this means no presents at all. With the lack of extra sadaqa that the mosque usually gets from Ramadan, they cannot provide these gifts for needing children when Eid comes this year. This is where we need your help.
                 Please help us at the ICP create a fund to help get gifts/ Eid toys for families in need this year. Let’s make this isolation bring out the best of us. Any type of donation helps, and will directly make a difference in the life of a young muslim in need of a distraction during these uncertain times. We ask you kindly to support in planting the seeds of love in the heart of the children, the future of our Ummah. We pray that the blessings of this Ramadan are upon you and your families.
