Ishika's Double-Lung Transplant

Our gregarious Ishika, is a vibrant freshman in college. She was diagnosed with a progressive lung condition - Bronchiolitis Obliterans - at birth. Over the last 19 years, she has overcome tremendous health challenges, consistently defying the odds. Ishika always strives to make a difference to those around her. Whether she is baking cookies to raise funds for brain disease research, setting up Khan Academy classrooms for Boys and Girls Club of America, earning her Girl Scout Silver Award, or mentoring kids in Robotics, her spirit and passion to make a difference is unbeatable! A generous philanthropist, Ishika is also fun-loving; she enjoys cooking, doing her nails, and is an avid fan of Ellen DeGeneres.

However, over the last few weeks Ishika’s lung function deteriorated rapidly and she was required to undergo a 10-hour double lung transplant. As she recovers in the ICU, Ishika's family has their hands full with all her medical needs.

The path to recovery after a lung transplant is a long and arduous one and requires specialized medical care. This fund will help Ishika pay for long-term medical needs, especially as she grows up and is required to move to her own insurance. Your donation will be used for paying medical expenses not covered by insurance.
