Pay ISD-11 Overdue Lunch Accounts

Update 05/22: the campaign is closed! While we haven't raised enough to pay down all lunch debt at Coon Rapids Middle School, we have raised enough to pay off the accounts that were being referred to further action with the district. This will help families avoid collections agencies as they enter the summer. Veronica Cary (the member of Indivisible North Metro who launched this GoFundMe) will be collecting the donations and sending them to Anoka-Hennepin as soon as they are received. An accounting of this will be posted once complete!

Indivisible North Metro is raising money to pay down overdue student lunch accounts in the Anoka-Hennepin School District (ISD-#11). Specifically, for this campaign, we are planning on donating to Coon Rapids Middle School. Indivisible North Metro is actively working to improve the lives of students of the school district through various means. All money raised during this fundraiser will be donated to the district's overdue lunch fund. We are hoping to help alleviate the stress that comes from putting a family in debt.
Anoka-Hennepin sends families to collections over lunch debt (source). It's really hard to pay attention when you're hungry. We believe that our children should have access to all of the food they need, so they can learn in the classroom without hunger.
We are planning on ending this fundraiser around mid-May, so that funds raised can be used to help clear debts for families ahead of summer.
We know this will not solve this problem forever, but we would like to provide a compassionate response to children and families in need. We welcome donations from outside of the district as well as inside. No child should go hungry in school. Let's take care of one another.
