Nick & Isabel - Tonga Youth Project

Thank you for your support - by spreading the word, offering your time, joining a fundraiser event, and considering to fund our volunteer effort.

After 4 years of individual effort, Nick is sharing his love for volunteering with Isabel on this trip. While we are giving our time, your financial support will help us realise the goals that Nick & the Surf For Life team set out for 1 year ago.

All funds will go to project costs (local staff, building supplies, seed equipment). Nick & Isa are covering the costs associated with food, accommodation, and leisure.

Surf For Life is teaming up with the Tonga National Youth Congress (TNYC) to build a virgin coconut oil (VCO) and vanilla processing facility on the island of Vava'u. This facility will enable local farmers to capitalize on the year-round supply of coconuts and vanilla for export to countries like Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. The new facility will also create employment opportunities for young people that have graduated from high school. Currently there are not many jobs available to Tongans outside of the tourism season, which only lasts half of the year.

Surf For Life sponsors educational and community driven development projects in coastal communities. We achieve this through engagement of motivated individuals and groups who fully participate in the construction of these projects.
