Isabel’s Discipleship School Fund

Dear friends and family,
Could I please take a moment of your time to discuss something I am very passionate and excited about?

A couple years ago, my older brother, Isaac went off to a discipleship school called Antioch. I was honestly extremely excited and proud of him and all God had planned for him. I am proud to say, I have decided to follow in his footsteps and attend this discipleship school.

After my family relocated to East Texas a few years ago, I began to feel very stuck. We had moved away to a very small town, away from all my friends and church family. I was struggling to make friends and to find a church that felt like home to me. Then a friend of my older brother (who has since become one of my best friends) contacted me via instagram DM about throwing him a surprise party for his 18th birthday. She had asked me to come to visit and to help her distract him, so he’d be surprised for his party. I went! That weekend, I realized that God had a plan for me that was much bigger than living in a lonely, small town out in the middle of nowhere. I visited the church in Antioch and worshipped with my brother’s life group. It changed my life!! It made me see God in a completely different light!

A couple months later, someone asked me what I planned to do after I graduated. All I knew was that I really wanted to move out of this small town, so I began to seriously think and pray about my future and what God wanted me to do with my life.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

I realized I really wanted to graduate a year early and attend a discipleship school. At this point, I didn’t know which school, but I knew it was a desire of my heart to go. So I prayed! There were so many options and ideas, but the one that kept coming back to me was Antioch. I felt peace with Antioch! Plus, I had friends in Waco, my brother, and a good community that I was already becoming somewhat familiar with.

I’ve been working on an accelerated program to enable me to graduate a year early, and everything is on track. I’m so excited!! More and more, doors began to open. Incredible people from Waco, where the school is located, continued to invite me to events, which kept me going back. They encouraged me to remain strong and to continue to grow in my faith.

During spring break of this year, I will be attending a camp that Antioch hosts, called “Awaken.” I will be moving to Waco August-December 2018 for a prerequisite class called “Visions and Values.” The Antioch Discipleship School begins after that!

I’m excited about how everything is working out! I would like to take this opportunity to ask for your help... Prayer, financial support, and love. All of it! My goal is to raise $7,500 for the school and living expenses. Your prayers and support would be absolutely incredible. Thank you all! Isabel Overton
