Karen and Hyun-June are proud to share that our eldest daughter, Isabelle, has been selected to represent Canada at the official Show Dance Championships to be held in Riesa, Germany in November 2017.
The International Dance Organization (www.ido-dance.com), is a World Dance and Dance-Sport Federation with a membership of over 90 nations, representing more than 250,000 dancers. The best dancers from around the world will be competing for the World Champion Title! Isabelle has been dancing since she was 3 years old at Rugcutterz Dance Artz and started competing at the age of 6. She truly loves to perform and is extremely excited for this opportunity. As parents, we know that no matter the outcome, the experience and memories made from this journey will be priceless and want to help her as much as we can.
In order for her to participate in this amazing opportunity, donations and financial assistance will be necessary to make her dance dreams come true as participants are required to raise all funds themselves in order to cover travel (ground and air), rehearsals, costumes, coach and choreography fees, Team Canada apparel, chaperone fees, and Canadian and International entry fees. Unfortunately, dance is still not recognized by the Canadian government as an official sport supported with any type of funding, even though many of these kids train up to 7 days a week and are definitely athletes in their own right.
We sincerely appreciate any support offered at this time so that Isabelle can realize this dream to represent Canada on the world stage. The goal is to meet this fundraising target by September 2017.
