Isabella Shand

Isabella Shand has been diagnosed with multiple cancerous brain tumours (optic gliomas) that will be a chronic condition. These Gilomas are effecting her current vision and post treatment for the cancer, the family will be progressing to treatment for vision loss.


Isabella is 5 years old, she has a newborn baby brother Theodore and a 3 year old brother Oliver.

The cancer has caused damage to her optic nerves and until we have treated the cancer, we will not know the full level of damage or the next course of action to deal with any and all issue related to her sight; as she is currently experiencing significant loss of sight. The chemotherapy treatment will not cure the cancer and it is something that will have to be monitored for the rest of her life in case it grows further or changes. 

Isabella and her family have felt overwhelmed by the love and support shown by their family, friends and local community. This page has been created as another avenue for those who wish to help and have not been able too. This funding will assist with auxiliary medical costs such as scans, medication, doctor visits, parking, therapies, specialist appointments and any other aids as required.

Your funding would also help the family with babysitting of their other children to allow Isabella's parents to focus on Isabella when treatment is being undertaken or if post treatment incidents occur.  Furthermore, for help and care should there be side effects of the treatment (education during disease outbreaks where school cannot be attended due to weakened immune system). Any remaining funds will go to charity for the further research and treatment of brain cancer - especially in children.
