<div>Hello, my name is Isabella Potter and I am 9 years old. On 21 August 2025 I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). Further tests revealed that my type of AML has features that make it challenging to treat, so, after going through rounds of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, I received a bone marrow transplant on 15 January 2026. The treatment and recovery process has been difficult. I have experienced anaphylaxis, pancreatitis, viral encephalitis and ‘graft versus host disease’ (when the organs in the body have an adverse reaction to the transplant). After almost 7 months in hospital, I hope that I can soon go home and then continue my recovery as an outpatient. The doctors have explained that my type of leukaemia has a high risk of relapse and so they recommend that I take a medicine that helps to stop the leukaemia cells from developing. Unfortunately, this medicine is extremely expensive. The best price we have found is GBP670 per day (GBP20,770 per month). Ideally I would take this medicine for 2 years (as the risk of relapse is much lower after 2 years). So, I am looking for help to cover the cost of the medicine that will give me the best chance of remission.
