Isaac on the Big Screen!

The name Isaac, meaning "he will laugh", was meant for my child and represents him perfectly. I remember the day he was born, April 11, 1997, after being warned that he may not make it through delivery. We were so afraid, so unsure, but I had just enough faith to make it to the hospital and experience what everyone called a miracle. He was born with a rare type of dwarfism called Camptomelic Dysplasia (Long Bone Disorder), which affected his feet and spine, but luckily it was nothing fatal. His first 3 years on earth were spent in and out of surgery, but since then Isaac has led a normal life playing sports, riding bikes, driving a car, hanging out with his long list of friends, and being an awesome big brother. His contagious laugh will hook you in, and even with his small size, his personality is so big it takes up the whole room.

Isaac has always had an interest in acting, so he was thrilled when he was asked to audition for an independent film last year called Closer to God. The film premiered (and sold out!) in the Nashville Film Festival recently and it has now been accepted into the Fantasia Film Festival, one of the biggest film festivals in North America! The festival is in Montreal, Canada, and the chance for him to go would be a dream come true and a HUGE opportunity for him and his future acting career. The premier date isn't finalized yet, but it's either in July or August. I would really like to be able to take him but as a single mom, and short notice of this happening, it is definitely not in my budget.
