Help Me Get to Steppenwolf!

Donation protected
Hello!!!

Friends, Family, Acquaintances, and all other readers, I have some wonderful news to share with everyone… This past Monday I was accepted into the School at Steppenwolf. For those of you who knows what this means… I KNOW RIGHT!!!  And for those of you who are excited, but you’re not entirely sure why you are feeling this way, I shall tell you how wickedly, ridiculously, fantastically awesome this really is. Steppenwolf Theatre is one of the most renowned and innovative theatres in Chicago, if not the entire country, if not the entire dare I say… WORLD. It is home to a great deal plenty of legendary Actors including but not limited to Laurie Metcalf, John Malkovich, Tracey Letts, Lois Smith, and is currently housing “The Office’s” Rainn Wilson in Matthew Lee Erlbach’s “The Doppelgänger (An International Farce)” directed by Steppenwolf Ensemble Member Tina Landau. Steppenwolf is known for pushing the boundaries in theatre, but also pushing the boundaries of your beliefs as the audience member.  Being accepted into this program is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, but I am going to need some help getting there.

So now I would like to talk logistics with you all, I’ve already gotten into the program so that’s the biggest check off of my “Steppenwolf Event List” but the next thing I need is that terrible M word that rattles my bones and sends my teeth into a chatter… MONEY. So Steppenwolf requires their students to pay tuition, the tuition is $4,000.00; I started this Go Fund Me with this goal of $4,000. Now I know what some of you may be thinking, “Don’t you have a job?” the answer is “Yes” but this job does not pay me enough to cover my tuition, rent, and bills, esspecially since my hours will be cut in half once classes start during the week. Now I’m sure you might say “Well what about savings?’ in which case I would shrug my shoulders and say “None.” I took a lot of risks and many people took chances on me to get me where I am today, and for that I am truly grateful. As we all know life has a funny way of baring its teeth at us, I just cant help but smile back.

For those of you who know me, you know how important this is to me, and for those of you who don’t, I would like to take a moment to explain to you. Since I was young I’ve always loved telling stories, I loved the thrill of capturing someone’s attention and entertaining them through voice, and movement. This storytelling passion has set me on a path of becoming an actor, my Father might argue that it was my inability at sports that set me on the track of Theatre, but I might argue back.  Since embarking on this journey I have been very fortunate; in 2012 I was awarded Best Comedic Actor in a musical from the Cappies of Baltimore, that same year I was awarded a Fine Arts Scholarship from West Virginia University, following that I was accepted into Dramatic Action Theatre where I traveled the Czech Republic and taught theatre to Romani children, and now I am accepted into The School of Steppenwolf. I don’t know how else to say this but Acting is in my bones, it keeps me up at night, it’s what I am supposed to do with my time on this wonderful planet.
