Irvin Hearlson’s BSA Eagle Project.....

I am 17 years old with a learning disability & speak impediment. It is hard for me to get a job as a child.           I been in scouts since 5 years old. I have earned all ranks thru Cub Scouts as well as the Arrow of Light. I am now a Life Rank Boy Scout I am now working on my Eagle Project. and complete it. I am pushing very hard to plan, build, and complete my Eagle project by April 1st of 2020 so I can receive my Eagle rank by the age of 18 Years old in October 2020. I am also in the Order of the Arrow.  I am constructing a life-sized checkerboard with storage benches at the Hueston Woods State Park located at 6301 Park Office Road College Corner, Ohio 45003; with disability access. This will allow both elderly and disabled; wheelchair-bound or not to enjoy the great outdoors playing an Americas great past time game. Checkers in America is a kind of Norman Rockwell icon, a symbol of good-natured competition and wholesome amusement. Because nearly everyone knows how to play, checkers is often viewed as a pastime for old men and children. I want to up the standards by including wheelchair accessibly and this why I am creating a Gofundme account.  This fund will provide the cost and expenses of the material,labor, and any unseen expenses. My goal is $6,000.00 Once I have reached my goal I will use any unspent funds to improve the landscaping around my project.
