Joseph Kinard and Brand Odhner here,
We will both be participating and competing in the Lake Placid IronMan competition on July 22, 2018. The IronMan 140.6 competition consists of three events, a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run. Completing an IronMan Triathlon has been a life long goal for us and we are committed to accomplishing this goal.
Unfortunately, this a pretty expensive event. Registration fees, equipment, coaching, travel, and lodging alone have cost each of us over $2500.00 already and we are looking for your help to offset some of these costs.
This event is also a great opportunity to raise awareness and donations for many important causes such as cancer research. Any donations we recieve beyond our registration, equipment and travel fees will be donated to Blood Cancer Research by Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In 2010, Joseph lost his Grandfather to lung cancer and a few years later, Brand also lost a Grandmother to cancer. Additionally, Brand's sister was diagnosed but due to effective cancer research and treatment, she is happy and healthy 3 years later. Our families have felt the devistating effect cancer has which is why this cause means so much to both of us. Please consider donating to the cause.

-Joseph and Brand are both fitness enthusiast and served as United States Marines prior to becoming Police Officers in Maryland.
