Irma relief fund for Casita Del Mar

Please help us keep Casita del Mar above water!
Casita Del Mar is our 47 Gibson houseboat, In the past year we have opened the doors to the beautiful people of the world, with the purpose of showing the back of our key west tourist island on the Boca Chica Basin at no cost. So people who can't afford the pricy hotels can still come and enjoy a stay on our working class neighborhood were Cuban fisherman and sponge man live and work.

But Casita del Mar was one of the many casualties of hurricane Irma.
As a category 4, Irma hit our little Paradise Conch Republic causing severe damages. We prepared for several days in advance to get ready for it.
However during the hurricane a bigger houseboat nearby broke loose, hitting us multiple times and causing Casita del Mar to sink. As a result we flooded with water all the way to the deck, and all engines and electronic components are useless.






Nonetheless We were able to save some batteries that will be used with solar panels for basic operations, as we move forward on the road to recovery.

The cost for repairs will reach around $40.000 once all is replaced and in perfect functioning order.

Following recommendations from friends all around, we decided to appeal to the good will of all who visited, or will come visit Key West in the future and stay with us at Casita del Mar.

The money will be use for salvaging costs, immediate repairs and to ensure the boat has a solid hull since we only have a temporary patch.
